Adult Safeguarding Policy Statement

E&J Estates has a procedure that sets out how E&J Estates will respond if a leaseholder expresses suicidal thoughts, self-harm intent or makes any statement indicating an immediate risk to life.

The safety of the individual is the priority.

E&J Estates is not a clinical or crisis-management organisation and cannot provide therapeutic support; however, we must ensure that concerns are referred promptly to the relevant authorities.

In these circumstances we will advise the person to immediately contact their GP, local authority safeguarding team or emergency services. We will then notify the police and the relevant safeguarding authority to ensure appropriate follow-up.

Any information shared is handled in accordance with the UK GDPR under the vital interests condition.
